About

Prof. Bill Anderson:

I’m a professor emeritus in the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Waterloo, located in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.  I have taught senior-level courses in Chemical Plant Design and Air Pollution Control.  Although semi-retired, I continue to lead and participate in research that deals with air treatment and emissions control, primarily using ultraviolet (UV) light for destroying contaminants.  We also work with various industrial partners on air treatment projects, UV disinfection for pathogen control, and antimicrobial materials for reducing infection transmission.  My LinkedIn page has more details, and a full list of research publications is available on Google Scholar.

In addition to the usual professorial-type duties, I also managed (from 2007 to 2018) the Faculty of Engineering’s processes for admissions to our undergraduate programs (excluding the School of Architecture, which has their own unique process).
